2. Are your products clean and non-toxic?
Yes. Our wave spray is EWG VERIFIED®, and our leave-in mask holds a safe EWG rating of 2. Our formulas are made without phthalates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, silicones, PEGs, mineral oil, or harsh sulfates.
3. Are your products safe for kids and teens with wavy or curly hair?
Absolutely. Everything is fragrance-free and gentle, making it ideal for kids and teens with sensitivities, hormonal fluctuations, or dry, frizz-prone texture.
4. Will the wave spray make my hair crunchy?
No. Wear the Wind is lightweight and non-crunchy. It creates soft, touchable waves and curls without stiffness, grit, or stickiness.
5. Do your products work on fine wavy hair?
Yes — especially well. Both formulas were created to be weightless and buildable, so they define texture without weighing down fine strands.
6. What curl types are your products best for?
Ivy & Elder works beautifully for 2A, 2B, 2C, and 3A textures. Wavy–curly hair benefits most from lightweight moisture and silicone-free styling.
7. Can I use your products if I heat style my waves or curls?
Yes. Willow Talk protects against breakage and dryness, while Wear the Wind creates smooth, soft texture under diffusers, wands, or low-heat tools.
8. Are your products silicone-free?
Yes. Both formulas are 100% silicone-free, ensuring waves and curls stay bouncy and buildup-free.
9. Do your products contain drying alcohols?
No. Our products do not contain harsh or moisture-stripping alcohols. While a small amount of Alcohol Denat. is used in our formulas to dissolve botanical extracts or keep the product lightweight, it evaporates quickly and does not dry out the hair or scalp.
10. Are your products fragrance-free?
Yes. Everything is completely fragrance-free — no synthetic fragrance, no essential oils, no masking agents. Ideal for sensitive users, migraine-prone people, and teens.
11. How do I build a clean routine for wavy or curly hair?
After washing, with towel dried hair, apply a dime-quarter size amount of lightweight moisture (Willow Talk) to reduce frizz and strengthen strands. Follow with soft, non-crunchy texture enhancement (Wear the Wind). Scrunch or twist and air-dry, diffuse, or heat-style. On days inbetween washes you can refresh your waves with our wave spray.
12. Can I use Ivy & Elder products on dry hair to refresh waves or curls?
Yes. Wear the Wind works on dry hair to revive flattened waves, smooth frizz, and restore light definition — perfect for next-day touch-ups.
